In loving memory of THADDEUS CHEONG;

Many including myself, do not know you personally, but somehow we love you and will miss you. We regret not getting to know you because you're one of a kind.

Many have spoken today at the mass dedicated to you, and we, friends of your beloved cousin Benedicta, have begun to see and realise why so many people love you and are crying at your sudden departure.

Although we do not know you that well, we cry that the world and us have lost a wonderful person, a wonderful son and friend. You have lived your life to the fullest, and managed to touch the hearts of many around you.

Your caring and loving heart, your genorosity to others, your modesty are but a few of your traits that everyone will miss.

You are but an angel and a saint, sent by God to touch the hearts of everyone mourning for your passing. There are no other words to describe you fully as said by your mum, but i think that calling you a Saint and an Angel is what the truth, and it is what you are.

I have never seen so many people cry and mourn for a person's passing before, and I realise that you are one of a kind Thaddeus, you are truly one of a kind.

Father Weerakoon cited an example to show how you put others before yourself, how you care for others:

He said that you knew that he enjoyed steam fish, and so you went to catch a fish to cook for him and not just buy it from the market. He also said that you turned down your grandma's offer of helping to cook the beef stew for dinner and that you would do it yourself even though it would be after your race on Sunday.

Singapore should be given a chance to know about you, the boy that ran and trained hard for the country. That you aren't only a triathlete that is so determined to win a medal for the country, but also a kind-hearted, wonderful, sweet, caring boy at heart.

I regret not getting the opportunity to meet you and to get to know you and I'm sure Denise, Bessie, Madeleine and Aaron feels the same way.

You left this world of trials and tribulations doing something you loved and enjoyed, to a place where peace and love reigns. The family members and friends you left behind miss you dearly and will forever love you.

Your legacy and goodness will never be forgotten in the hearts of your family, friends and the members of SFX church community.

The power of goodness and kindness;
