Goodness! i can't wait for tomorrow's
national day celebration in school. (:
redwhite redwhiteEnglish could be perhaps the most interesting and entertaining lesson today. We had to draw lots to see which group would be debating today, lo and behold my group got it. Our opposing team was chaili's team! Rupini, Thilanga, Samantha and i obviously weren't mentally prepared for it, oh and we didn't have any points at all!
In the end, i was the first speaker, Rupini the second, Samantha the third and Thilanga the last speaker since she has the ability to think on the spot very well. The argument was whether Terri Shiavo should be allowed to die. [the recent hoo-ha about euthanasia] We had loads of fun, definitely.
I remember when it was the question and answer segment, the opposing team mentioned something, and my whole team were quite frustrated that they could even ask that question because, we had already explained to them a billion times! So we all stood up at the same time, and started laughing because it was obviously not planned at all.
Anyhow, mr chai felt that this debate was going nowhere so we had to stop. Besides, the bell rang already. The other team was declared the winner because the majority of the class voted that Terri Shiavo should be killed. [oh, my team is the opposition team] But it really isnt fair because i think from the start,they already supported the idea that she should be killed, and it may not be because the other team had better points than us!
Oh well, i enjoyed myself and i think the rest of my team did too. Oh props to jennifer, margaret and jiani! They provided us with good and substantial points. (:
