The social studies presentation. It made Denise so stress, she having to do almost all of the powerpoint itself [so sorry honey!]. Plus, Yunmin and i decided that she, having the nicest slang out of Yunmin, myself and her, should read more than the both of us. So, we unknowingly doubled up her stress :(
We had to go to the computer lab during both recess and reading so as to complete the powerpoint presentation, like the summarizing of some slides. We came late for Amaths, but Ms Chin didn't scold. Ms chin rocks :) Last period was assembly and the eldds put up a skit. But Denise, Yunmin, Sindhu and i had to leave at 1.20pm because we couldn't add any pictures due to the time constraint during recess cum reading. So sad, because we didn't get to see yiying act. Well, we did, but not for long :(
At around 1.50pm, i called my mum to fetch us to saint gabriel's. I know its quite late, but it was a last minute decision! My mum came quite late, and mrs vivien koh waited with us for my mum to come. mrs koh is so sweet! :) my mum came at like 2.05pm, so i was damn scared that we were late and could be disqualified or something.
When we reached saint gabriel's, we stupidly waited for mrs koh, when she had actually gone up to the air-conditioned room already. haha. We weren't the latest group! The group from 3S was the later, but i think the latest was the group from yuying secondary. goodness, they came all dressed up in ethnic costumes! [no wonder they took so long, and the costumes unfortunately didn't really match. horrid colour combination]
Our group, which did on Rwanda was the first group to present. It was definitely scary, i was so nervous and tensed! But overall, i think that we did quite okay. I didn't stumble on alot of words, and i gave as much eye contact with the judge as possible. Denise was adorable! Haha. Her slang rocks :) Yunmin was very good too! Props to all of us :))
Next group was i think the group from yuying. I think that they tried really too hard to win. And most of them can't really pronounce properly. [i know, thats mean.] Next was peicai? should be. Gosh! Theirs was so cool because the students all came from different countries like thailand, china, indonesia etc. That was way cool. :) After them was zhonghua, one girl had superb reading skills! Followed by saint gabriel's, for goodness sake can you please pronounce "arab" properly? Overall, theirs was good though. Last was the other group from Cedar. ITS SO UNFAIR TO THEM. The stupid internet connection was going haywire or something, hence unable to show the blog, and had to use visualiser to show the hard copy instead. So sickening.
We had a few breaks in between the whole thing. So when it was results time, one of the judges wanted to give some comments for improvements on the presentation by every school. So she commented on our group's first. She kept insulting our presentation and powerpoint, any point she could find, she would just "attack" it. Denise and i were like so pissed. Because as she went on to other groups, she had at least 1 compliment to them. Ah.
They then announced the 1st of the 2nd placing, which was Zhonghua, while the 2nd of the 2nd placing was saint gabriel's. The judge then announced the first, it went something like " The first prize goes to...the group...doing..on RWANDA." All four of us, including mrs koh of course, were like stunned. We just sat there with our mouths wide open. Until the judge said that its okay with her if we didn't want the prize, so sindhu ran forward to receive the prize. Haha. :)

Saturday 08/04/06

The whole day was kind of boring until evening time when Mandy, michelle, mornique and i went to christabel's church. Up to now, i still don't get the event. Haha. I saw Jillian and dionne! :) And also met another girl from christabel's cell group who is just as retarded and comical as christabel is! Haha. They make a good pair. Really! Haha. I enjoyed it pretty much, but i missed denise and yiying :)

Sunday 09/04/06

The whole day was pretty much a toturing day for me. because, i had to wait for my doomsday which is approaching and not be able to do anything about it! [i mean 2.4km of course] :(

Monday 10/04/06

AH! 2.4km. I ran darn slowly, but heck, i passed :) I really got to work on my stamina though, i just realised how sucky it is. Haha. The day was like so slack because i didn't really pay attention during lesson time. Haha.
