" Even those who are young grow weak;young people can fall exhuasted. But those who trust in the Lord for helpwill find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles;they will run and not grow weary;they will walk and not grow weak. "- Isaiah 40:30-31Yesterday i went for the church retreat [one day] from 9am to 5pm. Well, i can't really say that i enjoyed it alot, or felt any great spiritual highness. I just didn't go for the retreat with an opened mind and with the right atiitude. I had loads of things on my mind, so my heart and mind just wasn't there yesterday. Unfortunately, of course.
Hm, first was icebreaker. We all sat in a circle, including some of the facilitators [ from Leaven of God and Cornerstones] and introduced ourselves. I hate introductions like this, i just find it kind of lame, but heck, it seems to work. Actually, i hate it because every year we have to do this so that the teachers will vaguely know who exists in the class. -.-
After icebreaker, i think, we spilt into our small groups. Jason from Cornerstones was my group's facilitator. We went of topic but hey, the sharing became more fun because of that. We talked about school, cca etc. Super out of topic. haha. Then there was this spontaneous sharing session with the whole lot. Daniel from Cornerstones gave a very touching and personal sharing. Props to him! =)
Then Father Anthony Ho talked to us about Lent and so on. It was quite an enriching experience. I suddenly realised how many nice phrases/quotes/verses there are in the bible. Like the one i typed above [ given to me by my brother] Yupps. Oh by the way, Father Ho is wayy generous! He gave us shirts, notebooks [not those cheapskate ones we brought to oac], pens [cost $1.50 each!] and lunch + coke. He rocks!
After lunch was erm praise and worship i think. I love praise and worship. The best activity of the day! That was the only time i could really like pray to God and reflect on daily happenings. That was followed by another game - Whacko. I HATE whacko. yucks. But luckily, i didn't get whacked or sabo-ed. Phew. Then we had mass, like a learning mass. Learnt alot from Father Weerakoon. Oh! And we received communion, with the host dipped in the wine. First time ever for me, and also first time i received communion on the tongue. So many firsts!! =D So that was all that happened.
Darn it. Jesiska went to Zouk to watch the drama/debate thing today. Yucks. Lucky her. I want to see Vidhya's debating skills and yiying's acting skills. Heard from jesiska that they both were great at what they were doing. And BEST, jesiska dind bring her camera!! She decided to kill herself, but i told her to let me have the honours. We'll see what happens on monday. HAHA =P
