Once again, Christmas has come and gone, and yet many still are oblivious to why they are celebrating this festive season. It is somewhat laughable that people think Christmas is a time to eat turkey, to put up the Christmas tree, and to tell young children about Santa Claus. It seems that Santa Claus has become one of the main parts of Christmas. Children hang up stockings and put out a plate of cookies and a cup of milk for Santa Claus' arrival. Soon after, they grow up into teenagers and stretch out their hands for money. Is that what Christmas is about? Is it really about giving and receiving presents?
NO
Companies and shops out there keep saying that Christmas is a time for giving. Is it because they really care about values such as sharing and caring? Or is it because by saying it is a time for giving, people spend all their money buying presents and they end up with loads of cash? Think about it.
And the nerve of replacing Jesus with santa claus! Santa claus is non-existent. This fairy-tale guy was inspired by a Saint that lived in Holland many decades ago. He was known for his genorosity. North pole? Things that people come up with! Jesus, the Son of God, was born as a man on Christmas day. And not santa claus climbing down your chimney. People can't even tell the difference between FACT and FICTION. Of course, if by now you still can't tell the difference, i'll say that you are hopeless.
People are celenbrating Christmas ignorantly, not realising the significance of this very special and holy day. Christians and Catholics should be aware of the significance, and if not, go research about it, i beg you.
It is frustrating to see how people who don't believe in Christ ignorantly celebrate this joyous occassion. Very frustrating.
